Well, with the long week-end behind us and the first day of school done – I’m back to my regular routine. Or as regular as it gets! This past week-end was filled with hockey practices, back to school shopping and two weddings!

Saturday’s wedding was so much fun. My morning started out with the guys, while Stephanie from Stephanie Cantin Photography got to see the ladies. These guys were such a laid back group and really made it easy to get into the spirit of the day. Then it was on to the Christ Church Cathedral, where the ceremony was filled with touching sentiments and lots of love!

Since the weather was looking a bit foul, we decided to stay in the church garden for the family photo’s and then over to the Garden of the Provinces for the rest of the photo’s. Let me tell you – this was a group that enjoyed getting their photographs taken! They were such fun to work with and made our jobs a breeze! We finished up and headed over to the always delicious, Empire Grill for an intimate reception. Without further ado, here is a sneak peek of the day:

I have been looking forward to tonight’s session all summer!

Back in May, I blogged about the Drury family and their daughter Kate – who is going through numerous medical struggles. At almost 3 years old, she is profoundly deaf – but I have to say, she is one of the sweetest little girls! And she is lucky enough to have one of the most caring older brothers!

Let me tell you – it didn’t take Kate long to figure me out! She was on to me and would position herself so that she had her back to me!! But I love a challenge – and I think we got some beautiful shots tonight at Westboro Beach. It was great to see you all again Drury family! Here’s a sneak peek:

I can’t believe that last night’s field session was the last one for this summer. But what a fantastic session it was! These guys made it so easy and I am thoroughly looking forward to offering these sessions again next summer!! Here’s a sneak peek:

I have been able to watch Megan grow over the last ten years. I’ve seen her go through many stages (the teen years were especially entertaining!), however she has grown into a beautiful, mature woman. And I think much of that has to do with Brent. They’ve have been together for quite a few years now, and they just fit together so well!

They wanted their wedding to be relaxed and simple – which is difficult to do when you come from large families! Megan’s family farm was a perfect setting and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day! Congratulations again Megan & Brent – I wish you all the best! Here’s a sneak peek:

So, as a mother of two boys myself – I get it.

Alright, I admit it – I don’t really understand the obsession that little boys have with vehicles, but I’ve come to accept it and expect it!

Tonight’s field session was with one of my favorite families. I’ve had the opportunity to watch their family grow over the last couple of years, and always look forward to meeting up with them. I am so excited for them as they are expecting again and I wish them all the best!! Here’s a sneak peek:

Growing up, we moved around frequently.

I was nervous that first day of Grade 3.

And I don’t remember the exact moment we met – but a shy, blue eyed, blonde haired little girl befriended me – this brown eyed, brown haired, chubby little girl! We lived down the street from each other for 4 years and oh the fun we had. The sleep overs, the Disney movies, the candy, the “boyfriends”, the dreams and the fears – we shared it all. Of course, over time and the fact that I moved away to BC, separated us and our lives went in different directions. She was always in the back of my mind and I often wondered what had become of her life. We stayed in touch off and on throughout the years, and because of Facebook, we have recently been able to keep in touch more often.

I am so proud of “Mandy” – I’m allowed to call her that still – and everything she has accomplished. She is a wonderful mother, a beautiful wife and a talented chef and I was honored to get the opportunity to photograph them all on their 10th wedding anniversary tonight. I wish you nothing but the best and look forward to many more years of friendship! Here’s a sneak peek from their field session:

I have been lucky enough to photograph this family three times, and after a couple of rescheduled dates because of the weather – we finally made it to our summer session. The Ornamental Gardens at the Experimental Farm were the perfect backdrop for last night’s session – and the sun finally graced us with it’s presence! I can’t wait to meet their new baby in only a few short weeks!! Here’s a sneak peek:

Weddings are such a fun-filled day and yesterday’s was no exception! I had the opportunity to work with Christine from Tripp Photography at the beautiful Strathmere. The bride was stunning, but even more so, was their easy love for each other! Some couples just fit together so well!! Here are a few of the details from yesterday:

Stephanie, from Stephanie Cantin Photography, and I had the opportunity to photograph one of the most touching weddings yesterday. We met up with the girls at the Chateau Laurier, where we got the chance to see many of the personal details that were included in the day’s celebrations. We then headed over to Jacques Cartier Park where an intimate ceremony was performed by the couple’s close friend. After finishing up some of the photo’s, we headed over to Strathcona Park, where the couple got engaged! Finally, we finished at the newly renovated Canadian Museum of Nature – where a fun filled second ceremony was held. The day was full of laughter and a few tears of joy – but this was a couple who is truly loved by all! Here’s a sneak peek:

I have to admit, I was a bit anxious about tonight’s field session. When the kids out number the parents, you just never know the way the session is going to go! But I gotta tell ya – this family had it going on!! These were some of the best behaved kids I’ve had the chance to photograph! I hope they all got a big helping of ice cream! Here’s a sneak peek:
