I had a special session last night with my own two boys. It’s not as easy as everyone thinks, to photograph your own family!

They quickly learn, that when I have some idea’s and pick up my camera – they’re in for at least a half an hour of hard work!! I joke!! But really, as the children of a photographer, you’d think they’d know that I don’t ask for “cheesey” smiles, yet as a general rule, I still get them!!

But last night, I let them be them – be the boys that I love (with a little posing help!) and they played in their rain boots, in a field of long grass and crickets with warm evening light washing over them. I can’t tell you how much these images melt my heart and that I am getting them all printed BIG for my walls!

The last time I met Miss L, she was only 6 days old. Now she’s six days shy of her first birthday.  She and her family will be moving in a few weeks, so we spent some time downtown in the Nation’s Capital to get some fun family shots. Here’s a sneak peek:

Oh man – it was so great to see the sunshine today!! The beautiful weather was perfect for such a fun family session.  I got to hang out with Mr. C – who let me tell you is one of the most personable 8 month olds!  He was so full of smiles, I could have stayed all day!! Here’s a sneak peek:
